The Villages of the Nile
In the villages of ancient Egypt people built mud brick homes which are still built today Many grew some of their own food and traded in the villages for the food and goods they could not produce a practice that is still seen in the villages today.
As you sail down the Nile women still wash their clothes, children swim and men fish and farm.

Egypt’s place in world civilization is due to the Nile.
The Nile has provided for those who live on it’s shores since the year 5000 BC.
The Nile still provides water to drink, irrigation water, farming opportunity, fish and waterfowl for food.
The papyrus reeds grew on the banks of the Nile and were used for boats, for houses and to make paper to
document their history.
The Nile River is still providing fertile land for farming, thus improving Egypt's agriculture although the High Dam has stopped the flooding and draught that was part of Egypt’s history.
